The twelve constellations

Each has a different width along the ecliptic. That decides how long the Moon stays in front of it.

Trines in one element

A trine of two wandering stars in front of constellations of the same element. For a few hours the calendar then shows the day type of that element.

Aspects

Conjunction, opposition and trine between the Sun, the Moon and the planets, each with all dates from 2026 to 2035.

Frequently asked questions

Which constellation is the Moon in today?

Moon in Sagittarius, until Mon, Oct 19, 2026, 02:43 AM. The calendar shows the day type Fruit day.

What is a constellation in the biodynamic sense?

It means how the Sun, the Moon and the planets stand towards each other and in front of the constellations of the zodiac. Maria Thun developed her sowing days from this research, which is why her calendar is also called a constellation calendar.

Why are the constellations of different widths?

The International Astronomical Union fixed the boundaries of the constellations in 1928. Along the ecliptic, Virgo is the widest at 44.0°, Cancer the narrowest at 20.1°. So the Moon stays in front of them for different lengths of time.
