What it is for
Preventive against fungal diseases (mildew, blight, rust). Strengthens the silica processes and the plant’s resilience.
Dose and application
Prepare as a decoction (more effective than a tea): simmer 25 g of dried horsetail per ha in water for 1 hour, leave to stand for 1 day, strain, dilute to 10–100 L/ha (home garden: boil 10 g in 2 L, dilute to 10 L per 1,000 m²). Spray onto the leaves in the morning as the sun rises. Especially effective 1–3 days before Full Moon. Prevention of fungal diseases; under fungal pressure repeat every 7–10 days. Harvest the herb around St John’s Day (24 June). Viticulture: regularly when there is a risk of downy mildew and botrytis (Masson).
