Biodynamic preparations in August — ripening and the start of autumn
The transition to ripening and autumn work: horn silica for ripening, barrel compost for stubble cultivation, horn manure for autumn sowing — and oak bark is set up.
August is the turning month. Ripening is in the foreground, and at the same time autumn work begins with stubble cultivation, catch crop sowing and autumn sowing. Barrel compost now comes into greater use — on stubble and harvested areas.
In making, the stinging nettle preparation is recovered, and the oak bark goes into its sheath.
Grassland and arable
- Grassland: horn manure after each use, horn silica around two weeks later.
- Cereals: barrel compost for stubble cultivation and fertilising; horn manure for autumn sowing and catch crop sowing.
Vegetable garden
- Barrel compost on harvested areas.
- Horn manure and horn silica according to stage of development; horsetail under fungal pressure.
Vines and fruit
- Fruit: horsetail tea on the soil to strengthen the roots; one application each of horn manure and horn silica to support ripening (horn silica in the afternoon).
- Vines: horsetail when there is a risk of fungal disease.
Making
- Yarrow (502): collect and dry.
- Stinging nettle (504): dig up the previous year's preparation.
- Oak bark (505): collect, fill the domestic animal skull and set it up.
