Working with the preparations in November — last applications and frost protection
The last applications of the year: horn manure and barrel compost on harvested areas, horn silica in winter cereals, valerian as frost protection. The preparations rest in the soil.
November brings the last applications of the year. On harvested areas and on grassland, horn manure and barrel compost go out one last time; in winter cereals, horn silica gives the ripening impulse. With the first frosty nights, valerian (507) once again serves as frost protection.
As far as making the preparations goes, the work is done: the preparations set up in autumn are now resting in the soil over winter.
Grassland and arable
- Grassland: after the last use, horn manure and barrel compost.
- Cereals: barrel compost for stubble cultivation and with fertilising; horn manure for autumn sowing; horn silica in winter cereals from the three-leaf stage; valerian as frost protection.
Vegetable garden
- Barrel compost on harvested areas.
- Horn manure and horn silica according to the stage of development; horsetail when fungal pressure is high; valerian as frost protection.
Vines and fruit
- Fruit: barrel compost on the leaves and horn manure; combine with barrel compost when spreading manure.
- Vines: add barrel compost when spreading manure in autumn.
Making the preparations
The preparations set up in autumn rest in the soil over winter — no digging work.
