Soil

Soil building and regenerative practice

Green manure

Sow early green manure: phacelia, mustard or clover on beds that are still empty. This feeds soil life and protects against capping.

Mulchen

Put down the first layer of mulch once the soil has warmed up – never leave soil bare. Grass clippings, straw or hay work well.

Bodenpflege

Never work the soil when it is wet! Compaction destroys soil structure and heals only slowly. Fist test: soil should crumble, not stick.
